Merry Monday: "Green" Wedding

“Green” is beginning to make its mark in the wedding industry.  No, not the color, the
concept!  Here are 6 simply ways you can incorporate “green” into your special day.

1. Rent don’t buy.
You can rent everything from your linens and vases to your dress, if you like.  Renting
not only reduces the amount of raw material that is taken from the earth, it can also be
a budget saver while many people think buying wedding decor is less expensive, most time it is not!

2. Think seasonal and local
Ask your designer what flowers are in season and what is available locally.  Thinking
seasonal and local will reduce fuel emissions that are created while shipping flowers,
and also support local farmers and the local economy.

3. Give a green favor.
Give each guest a packet of seeds, a small plant start, or even donate to have a tree
planted in honor of each guest that attends your wedding.

4.  Think vintage.
You can visit your local antique mall, but if that is not your thing, try looking online
for a one of a kind vintage gown, shoes, or jewelry.

5. Think live plants.
When you use live plants you give your environment a wedding gift too!  The key to
making it a truly green idea is making sure that the plants get put back into the
ground, or at least are kept alive!

6. Think Organic.
When planning your dinner plan an organic menu and use flowers that are from a farm that
does not use pesticides.

Merry Monday: Fabric Draping

There are so many elements that go into creating an atmosphere for an event and one of our favorite's is fabric draping.

Fabric Draping above the dance floor is a wonderful focal point for an event, wonderful for photos, and adds that extra pop of color that is sometimes needed!

Adding chinese lanterns are a wonderful finishing touch for the right event!

Fabric draping is also the perfect way to add school colors to a graduation party in addition to weddings!

Merry Moments...

I can't begin to thank my team enough for all they do to make Merry Me such a success, but I thought I'd try to show them a little appreciation with a party, Merry Me style...

Carrie, of Chic Eats out did herself with the food she prepared for us. I wanted to show my team how much they mattered. They consistently create exceptional events. I wanted nothing less than exceptional for them. Chic Eats delivered. The selections were amazing and delicious.

Sesame Ahi Tuna bites

Crab Salad Cucumber
Slices
Rice Noodles and Chicken with Asian Peanut Sauce
Goat Cheese Crustini's with Bacon, Butter Pecans and Dates
Peppered Beef Tenderloin, Blue Cheese and Mushroom Skewers.
Artichoke, Sundried Tomato and Parmesan Wontons.

and oh, I feel a SugaRush coming on... Thanks Megan for creating the perfect sweet tooth finish. The cake pops and cookies were delicious! Your artistic design was a great duplicate of the Merry Me signature.
It's fun to have a party for 'us' sometimes...

WSBT BRIDAL SHOW: It's time to start some Spring Thinking....

This warmer than usual weather was perfect for our Spring Garden themed booth at last weekend's WSBT Bridal Show at the Joyce at Notre Dame! Now we are ready for the smell of fresh cut grass and the rainbow of tulips popping up everywhere this spring!

Brides waved their wedding Wish Wands that stated "It’s your Day – Wish the Merry Me Way" or "Wands Waved- Wishes Saved,  Merry Me Events." These were a huge hit among the brides. Loved seeing these in the brides hands all over the show!
